Epistemic Governance Framework

CHRYSALIS:
Governed accountability
for agentic AI.

An external governance layer that validates what AI agents believe before they act. Not self-governance. Structural accountability from the outside.

This is not
self-governance.

Most AI safety approaches ask the agent to monitor itself, flag its own errors, and report its own failures. CHRYSALIS is built on a fundamentally different premise: the system being governed cannot be the system doing the governing.

CHRYSALIS sits outside the agent as a continuous, independent accountability layer. It validates what the agent believes before those beliefs translate into action. It detects when an agent's epistemic state has been compromised, whether through adversarial injection, context drift, or conflicting belief states. It scores integrity, reports compliance, and attests findings on-chain.

The result is a governance architecture that does not depend on the agent's cooperation to function. That is the architectural distinction that makes CHRYSALIS credible in high-stakes deployment environments.

"Accountability that depends on the agent's self-report is not accountability. It is optimism." — CHRYSALIS Whitepaper v2.0

⚠️

Self-Governance (Standard Approach)

Agent monitors its own behavior, reports its own errors, flags its own failures. Vulnerable to the very failure modes it is meant to prevent.

External Governance (CHRYSALIS)

Independent layer validates beliefs before action. Does not require agent cooperation. Functions even when the agent's epistemic state is compromised.

On-Chain Attestation

Governance findings attested to Solana devnet. Immutable, auditable record of epistemic integrity assessments independent of the deployment environment.

📊

Continuous Monitoring

Real-time Cognitive Pressure Index tracking across the full agent lifecycle, not just at deployment. Catches drift and compromise before they manifest as harmful outputs.

Every layer of
epistemic governance.

CHRYSALIS is a modular architecture. Each component addresses a distinct accountability function. Together they form a complete governance layer for agentic AI systems.

Module 01

MEMOIR

Belief classification, conflict detection, and on-chain attestation. MEMOIR is the epistemic memory layer, classifying what the agent believes, identifying conflicts between belief states, and attesting findings to the blockchain for immutable record-keeping.

Module 02

ORACLE

Metacognitive learning and pattern analysis. ORACLE observes the agent's reasoning patterns over time, identifies systematic biases or failure modes, and feeds that learning back into the governance architecture to improve detection over deployment lifecycles.

Module 03

MIRROR

Real-time Cognitive Pressure Index monitoring. MIRROR tracks the agent's epistemic stress state continuously, detecting when competing beliefs, contradictory inputs, or adversarial pressure are pushing the agent toward unreliable or compromised reasoning.

Module 04

COMPASS

Regulatory compliance reporting. COMPASS maps agent behavior and governance findings to applicable regulatory frameworks, generating audit-ready compliance reports that satisfy emerging AI governance requirements across jurisdictions.

Module 05

SHIELD

Adversarial belief injection detection. SHIELD monitors for attempts to manipulate the agent's belief state through prompt injection, context poisoning, or adversarial inputs designed to bypass safety constraints by corrupting the agent's epistemic foundation.

Module 06

EIS

Epistemic Integrity Score across the full agent lifecycle. EIS synthesizes signals from all five modules into a single, interpretable score representing the agent's current epistemic trustworthiness, updated continuously in real time.

The governance layer
the industry needs.

As agentic AI systems move from experimental to production, the question of accountability is no longer theoretical. Regulators, enterprises, and the public are demanding answers about how these systems are monitored, how failures are caught, and who is responsible when things go wrong.

CHRYSALIS is designed to be that answer. Not as a compliance checkbox but as a credible, technically rigorous governance infrastructure that organizations can build on and auditors can verify.

We are actively seeking strategic partners, investors, and enterprise pilot programs. If you are working on agentic AI deployment and need a governance layer that can actually be trusted, this is the conversation to start.
